What's Gigacon?

It started innocently enough as an annual animation forum on the campus of The Art Institute of Washington. But as these things happen, it broke out of its cage and morphed into Gigacon. The transformation was the brainchild of Bryan Tillman, who chairs the college's animation and game art programs. Unlike many major cities, Washington lacks a true comics convention. Tillman who has hosted a panel at the granddaddy of animation events, San Diego Comic-Con, set out to change that: "There is so much talent in this area, there's no reason DC shouldn't have its own big convention."

Although conceived as an educational, multimedia event for students, Gigacon is open to the public. Learn tricks of the trade from professionals. Check out the work for sale in the Artists Alley. Try your hand at one of the many activities or contests . Gigacon is meant to be fun and inspirational.
